About this deal

The treble of the SR850 is what I found to be too bright and forward at times. This makes the headphone sibilant and also fatiguing pretty fast. However, I only experienced this when using the headphone at a higher volume. For normal listening, this problem is pretty nonexistent. So if you listen to headphones very loud, you should keep that in mind when choosing the SR850. On the upside, the treble is airy and has good details which make the headphone interesting and clear. Soundstage This simply means that beyond a certain price threshold, the increase in sound quality gets incrementally smaller even though you’re paying a lot more. Both are really good for gaming because of the immersive detail and positional sound. They both have a very spacious soundstage, especially for lower-end headphones. What is Soundstage? A headphone profile gives you a flat EQ frequency response for mixing on headphones. This means you are able to hear all parts of your mix clearer and using the built in EQ-5 tool in Bitwig. It’s not going to be perfect, but will get you almost there and will save you a bit of money from having to buy extra headphone equalizer software. Ergonomic qualities are of great importance to anyone who’s looking for a home studio headset. While both of these sets are great in this regard, we can’t help but notice that AKG K240 is, objectively, a better choice.

Well, that’s about it for today my friend! I hope you’ve enjoyed this Samson SR850 vs. Superlux HD668B comparison. With that in mind, we can confidently say that Samson SR850 are more than worth the price. Honestly, we’re yet to find a pair within this price range that competes with them. They’re comfortable, they have a decent build quality, and they sound pretty great. What more do you need? Price & Value For Money: AKG K240 First off, Samson’s SR850 headphones cover the entire audible spectrum and more. Going from 10 to 30000 Hz, they go beyond what you can hear. Although it seems redundant, this enables a better distribution of frequencies in the audible spectrum. Additionally, you can also “feel” some of the bottom-ends, not just hear it.

Of course, Samson is far from a bad choice, but you’ll enjoy K240 more if you’re looking for comfort. Both headsets are relatively light as well, so you won’t be facing any comfort-related problems with either of them. The frequency response isn’t the most even, but overall, they have a balanced sound signature with a bit of brightness. Bass has a good punch and control and works great for the majority of genres. The great thing about these headphones is that they don’t sound bloated or cheap – something that a lot of entry-level models suffer from. And that’s a good thing. Now you actually have an excuse to buy more things HAHA. Most married folks I’ve talked to are deathly afraid of buying gear in fear of their wife finding out and scolding them. xD You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail.

The AKG K240 MKII is a natural alternative to the Samson SR850. It features a similar design and is also an excellent choice for studio work. To summarize our findings in this Samson SR850 vs AKG K240 comparison, here are the winners for each category: They need EQ to boost lows from 30Hz to 60Hz, but LOWER the 5KHz to 8KHz alot, and from 10KHz to 16KHz, to lower just a few dB’s.

Don’t get us wrong, this doesn’t mean that they’ll fall off with regular use. However, these aren’t exactly the headphones you’d recommend to someone who’s headbanging all the time. You wouldn’t want them on you if you’re headbanging or just being very dynamic all the time. Consider them if you’re mostly stationary. Stability: AKG K240 The HD668B don't do well with EQ when adding bass. They lose some definition and sound a bit too boomy. These are made entirely from plastic. Housing, self-adjusting headband, and even earpads. They’re very lightweight for their size, which adds to the comfort, but not to durability. Being that they have a 32 Ohm Impedance and 98dB of Sensitivity, they’re very efficient (meaning they don’t need a lot of power from an amp), and don’t resist power at all.
